What it doesAI
Detects the latest DeepSeek Harness version from multiple sources and performs one-click smooth upgrades with a service daemon.
- Compares local @deepseek-ai/dsh against remote latest versions
- Uses npmmirror mirror first, falls back to official npm
- Daemon keeps the DSH service running and notifies on updates
Capability tags are AI-inferred or rule-extracted from the README (see badge) — vocabulary-limited, not install-verified. AI = inferred; README = literal keyword from the readme.

Verification & Compatibility
Grouped by plugin version: each card lists the dsh versions actually tested against that artifact version and their install verdicts (L5 wins). Untested combinations are omitted — absence means untested, never assumed compatible. L1–L3 are a plugin-level static archive (independent of the dsh version — the same verdict on every dsh row): they sit in each row's level grid next to L4/L5, marked "static", while their evidence is stored once per plugin inside that row's "checks & evidence" instead of being duplicated per version.
External credentials (plugin-level): none detected
○ The author declares no dsh version requirement — install is not blocked by version.

Two automated layers, neither a manual review: a static scan (per-plugin rule checks) and a model-driven dynamic security audit that covers only the subset static-flagged at warn or above and never executes plugin code.
Static low, dynamic critical — stricter wins → overall critical.

- criticalUnvalidated request version is passed to global npm install (arbitrary package/tarball installation)
lib/index.js:452POST /api/dsh-upgrade/start takes `parsed.version` straight from the request body; the only transformation is `targetVersion.trim().replace(/^v/, '')` (line 616), with no semver allow-list or comparison against the registry. That value becomes npm's package spec, and npm accepts far more than plain versions: git URLs, tarball URLs and `npm:<alias>` specs are valid dependency specs, so a caller can make the host install attacker-chosen code globally (`npm install -g @deepseek-ai/dsh@npm:evil-pkg` or a remote tarball). The plugin then calls recordUpgradeNotes and triggerRestartService, so the in
- highState-changing API is unauthenticated with Access-Control-Allow-Origin: * on every response
lib/index.js:502The whole /api/dsh-upgrade prefix is served with wildcard CORS and preflight approval for POST plus Content-Type, and no token, session check, Origin/Host check or CSRF defence anywhere in the handler. Any web page the user browses can therefore issue cross-origin fetch() calls that (a) start an upgrade with an arbitrary version (see critical finding), (b) POST /reset to wipe task state, (c) POST /restart, and can read GET /info, /status and /compatibility responses, which disclose pid, uptime, node version, installed npm path and the local plugin inventory. The wildcard CORS header removes th
- mediumUnauthenticated restart endpoint kills the running service via launchctl kickstart / process.exit
lib/index.js:226POST /api/dsh-upgrade/restart (and the same handler mounted at /api/dsh-restart) is reachable without any credential and immediately schedules `launchctl kickstart -k` on the DSH agent; on failure the fallback path calls process.exit(0) (line 234). Because the endpoint is CORS-open, any visited web page can repeatedly restart the service, aborting in-flight sessions and tool runs (the client itself warns that 'current running inference or tasks will be interrupted'). This is an unauthenticated availability/DoS vector against the developer's tooling, distinct from the upgrade code-execution pat
- lowHard-coded developer-specific absolute path written on every upgrade
lib/index.js:198recordUpgradeNotes writes (and reads) a file outside the plugin's own scope under the author's personal checkout path. On any other machine the write fails silently (caught at line 217), and where it succeeds it appends upgrade history including versions, the profile backup path and the rollback command to an unexpected location. It also leaks the author's local directory layout into the published package. Not exploitable by itself, but it is an unintended filesystem side effect on an attacker-influenced code path (the version string is embedded in the note).
Unauthenticated, CORS-open upgrade endpoint feeds an unvalidated version string into global npm install, allowing arbitrary package/code installation followed by a service restart.
Rule: the dynamic audit can only raise risk, never lower it (raise-only, never an exemption); a wrong raise is withdrawn by human review and the tier falls back to the static verdict. Overall verdict = the stricter of the two layers.
Disclaimer: the static scan and the dynamic security audit are both automated analysis, not a security guarantee. Always review what you install.
