What it doesAI
DSH plugin that turns 2D plate prints into noBS CAD scripts and STEP files via a skill, CAD tools, and a native print probe.
- Converts 2D plate prints into noBS CAD scripts
- Exports STEP files from the generated CAD geometry
- Ships as a DSH skill with CAD tools and a native print probe

Verification & Compatibility
Grouped by plugin version: each card lists the dsh versions actually tested against that artifact version and their install verdicts (L5 wins). Untested combinations are omitted — absence means untested, never assumed compatible. L1–L3 are a plugin-level static archive (independent of the dsh version — the same verdict on every dsh row): they sit in each row's level grid next to L4/L5, marked "static", while their evidence is stored once per plugin inside that row's "checks & evidence" instead of being duplicated per version.
External credentials (plugin-level): none detected
○ The author declares no dsh version requirement — install is not blocked by version.

Two automated layers, neither a manual review: a static scan (per-plugin rule checks) and a model-driven dynamic security audit that covers only the subset static-flagged at warn or above and never executes plugin code.
Static low, dynamic medium — stricter wins → overall medium.

- mediumEngine executable derived from a world-writable temp registry is spawned without validation
lib/host-utils.js:110sessionRegistryDir() defaults to <tmpdir>/nbcad-sessions and runningDesktopPids() accepts any *.json there whose updated_ms is fresh. discoverEngine() then does `for (const pid of runningDesktopPids(...)) { const path = executableOfPid(pid, platform); if (path) return found(path, 'running desktop') }`, engineArgs() gives that binary ['--headless'], and every CAD tool call (nbcad_run_script/nbcad_inspect_step/nbcad_check) spawns it as the harness user. Any local user who can create/populate that temp directory before the CAD app does, and who has a process of their own, gets their own binary ex
- mediumTool path arguments are resolved but never confined to the workspace
lib/host-utils.js:20Every tool argument (script_path, step_path, print_path, out_png, and the .holes.json sibling written by holesJsonFor) goes through resolvePath and is handed verbatim to the engine or to the native probe, which reads and writes it with the user's rights; the tool descriptions promise workspace-relative paths but nothing enforces it, although insideDir() exists in the same file. A prompt-injected print (e.g. a PDF carrying instruction text) can therefore make the model render any local PDF/PNG/JPG into a picture it can read, or overwrite any writable file with probe output.
- lowPrint render cache lives in the shared temp dir with a predictable key
native/print-probe/src/main.rs:110Rendered pages are cached as <filename>-<len>-<mtime>-<dpi>-<page>.pgm under $PRINT_PROBE_CACHE or the shared OS temp dir and read back before rendering, so another local user can pre-place a file with a matching key; calibrate/crop/ring-score/symbols would then analyse wrong pixels and report confident but incorrect hole geometry with no error. A corrupted PGM also reaches the unchecked `data[idx..idx + w * h]` slice in parse_pgm (panic, reported as a JSON error).
Engine path can come from a world-writable temp registry and is spawned unvalidated; tool file paths are unconfined. Packed probe binaries are hash-verified and spawns use argv arrays.
Rule: the dynamic audit can only raise risk, never lower it (raise-only, never an exemption); a wrong raise is withdrawn by human review and the tier falls back to the static verdict. Overall verdict = the stricter of the two layers.
Disclaimer: the static scan and the dynamic security audit are both automated analysis, not a security guarantee. Always review what you install.
