decodeURIComponent is called unguarded inside the async request handler, so a request such as GET /%% (or any truncated escape, e.g. /%zz) throws URIError. The rejection escapes the handler, Node's default unhandled-rejection behaviour terminates the process, so a single request can take the preview server down. Because the path-traversal guard in the same function is correct, no file outside dist/ is exposed; the impact is denial of service, and only for the dev preview server (loopback by default, optionally exposed with --host).

Only a low-severity crash risk in the dev preview server; no critical/high/medium issues, path-traversal defense verified, no injected instructions found.

Rule: the dynamic audit can only raise risk, never lower it (raise-only, never an exemption); a wrong raise is withdrawn by human review and the tier falls back to the static verdict. Overall verdict = the stricter of the two layers.
