What it doesAI
Packages a Fork-style Git GUI with Express backend and browser frontend as a DSH plugin for desktop/web embedding.
- Starts Express backend on loopback 127.0.0.1:3417
- Registers /api/git_gui/info to report GUI status
- Embeds Git GUI within DSH desktop and web
Capability tags are AI-inferred or rule-extracted from the README (see badge) — vocabulary-limited, not install-verified. AI = inferred; README = literal keyword from the readme.

Verification & Compatibility
Grouped by plugin version: each card lists the dsh versions actually tested against that artifact version and their install verdicts (L5 wins). Untested combinations are omitted — absence means untested, never assumed compatible. L1–L3 are a plugin-level static archive (independent of the dsh version — the same verdict on every dsh row): they sit in each row's level grid next to L4/L5, marked "static", while their evidence is stored once per plugin inside that row's "checks & evidence" instead of being duplicated per version.
External credentials (plugin-level): none detected

0.1.1-rc.2 ×4
✗ Running dsh 0.2.1-rc.2 is outside the declared range — the official install gate rejects it (incompatible-version).
To force-install, grant an exact-version exemption: dsh plugin allow-version dsh-git-9@0.1.0 0.2.1-rc.2 (the exemption lives in the local profile; this site does not assume one)
Whether it actually runs is a separate question → see the measured matrix below (L1–L5).

Only the latest 3 published versions are shown; source-snapshot (commit hash) groups, unstated groups and older versions are omitted — the full archive stays in the data layer (snapshot/unstated groups appear only when a plugin has no published version).

Two automated layers, neither a manual review: a static scan (per-plugin rule checks) and a model-driven dynamic security audit that covers only the subset static-flagged at warn or above and never executes plugin code.
Static low; dynamic high (authoritative when present) → overall high.

- highCommand injection in /api/rebase-interactive via unvalidated 'onto' option and todo hash (--exec / exec)
lib/git-gui-server.jsThe 'onto' value is inserted directly into the git argument vector after --autostash with no '--' separator, so 'onto=--exec=<cmd>' is parsed by git as an option and runs an arbitrary command after each commit. Separately, todo.hash is only checked to be a string and is written verbatim into the rebase todo file, so a hash containing a newline injects a 'exec <cmd>' line. Once a repo is open and the endpoint is reachable (loopback server with no auth, or a page via DNS rebinding), this yields arbitrary command execution as the user.
- mediumUnauthenticated, Host-unchecked local Express server exposes destructive git/filesystem operations
lib/git-gui-server.jsThe server accepts requests from any local process and, because it sets no authentication, no Host-header check, and no CORS policy, is reachable from a malicious web page via DNS rebinding. Such a caller can drive destructive endpoints (reset --hard, discard, checkout -f), read recent local repo paths and the SSH public key, and combine with the injection above. Loopback binding and arg-vector execFile calls mitigate but do not remove the risk.
- low/api/diff reads untracked files without the resolveRepoFile containment guard
lib/git-gui-server.jsUnlike the discard handler which calls resolveRepoFile(), the untracked-file branch of /api/diff resolves the path with plain path.join and then fs.readFileSync. If a path (or an in-repo symlink reported as untracked) points outside the repo, file contents are read and returned. Exploitation is gated by git reporting the path as '??', so reachable impact is limited, but the containment asymmetry is a real hardening gap.
Unauthenticated loopback git-gui API plus command injection in the interactive-rebase handler allow arbitrary command execution once reachable.
Rule (2026-10-24): when a dynamic conclusion exists it is authoritative (it may raise or lower the level); without one, the static/vet fused tier applies. The audit never writes the exemption list (exemptions are manual only); a wrong conclusion is withdrawn by human review and the tier falls back to static/vet.
Disclaimer: the static scan and the dynamic security audit are both automated analysis, not a security guarantee. Always review what you install.
