  • medium/purge irreversibly deletes original Codex session files outside the DSH data directorylib/index.js:353

    A delete action the UI describes only as "remove this session file" also destroys the user's original Codex session logs (rollout-*.jsonl, reported as the larger copy, e.g. 605MB) in ~/.codex, a different application's data directory and possibly the only copy. Deletion is irreversible and outside the plugin's declared scope.

    Deletion targets any file under $CODEX_HOME/sessions|archived_sessions whose name merely ends with -<id-part>.jsonl; there is no verification that the file actually belongs to that session id, so an unrelated file with a matching suffix would be removed.

  • lowArchive-membership safety gate is self-satisfiable via /archivelib/index.js:318

    /purge refuses ids that are not in archivedSessionIds, but the same plugin's /archive adds any syntactically valid id without checking that a session exists, so the gate does not actually constrain a caller able to issue both commands. Impact is limited (id regex + path containment still apply), but the advertised 'current sessions cannot be hurt' guarantee rests only on this weak check.

Careful id/path guards, but /purge irreversibly deletes the user's original Codex session files under ~/.codex, outside the plugin's own data scope.

Rule (2026-10-24): when a dynamic conclusion exists it is authoritative (it may raise or lower the level); without one, the static/vet fused tier applies. The audit never writes the exemption list (exemptions are manual only); a wrong conclusion is withdrawn by human review and the tier falls back to static/vet.
