index.js:418handleImage (/api/img?u=) accepts any http(s) URL, checks only the original hostname against ALLOWED_IMAGE_SUFFIXES, then fetches with redirect: "follow". Any allowlisted domain that answers with a 3xx (open redirect, shortener path, login bounce) lets the request land on an arbitrary host, including 127.0.0.1 and private/LAN addresses, and when that target answers with an image/* content-type the body is streamed straight back to the caller. The route has no method or auth check in the handler, so it can also be triggered as a plain GET from any web page open in the user's browser (blind SSRF
- lowConfig/diag write routes parse JSON for any content-type and perform no request-origin check
index.js:474readJsonBody parses the body as JSON regardless of Content-Type, so a cross-site page can issue a no-preflight POST (text/plain) to /dsh-anime-theme/api/config or /api/diag on localhost and mutate plugin settings (enabled, allowNsfw, sort, dock position) or append up to 64 KB of attacker-chosen JSON lines to ~/.dsh/anime-theme/diagnostics.jsonl. The payload is strictly whitelisted by sanitizePatch, so impact is limited to nuisance/privacy (e.g. silently enabling the NSFW pool) and log noise.
Image relay only checks the hostname before a redirect-following fetch (allowlist/SSRF bypass); config writes have no origin/content-type checks.
Rule (2026-10-28): when a dynamic conclusion exists it is authoritative (it may raise or lower the level); the static scan tier (vet primary, dsh backstop) applies only when there is none (not queued / audit failed / withdrawn). The audit never writes the exemption list (exemptions are manual only); a wrong conclusion is withdrawn by human review and the tier falls back to the static scan tier.
